What a surprise to wake up to snow this morning! It’s not terribly common to get snow this early in the year where I live, but here it is.
What better time than this to enjoy the warmth of the indoors and some home-cooked food?
Yesterday my daughter told me “Mama, cook!”
To my great delight, she is starting to enjoy watching me cook and bake.
So, I decided to cook up the last of the apples we picked at a nearby orchard back in September.
The procedure is incredibly easy, and the result is wonderful. Here’s my take on “stewed” apples.
- Slice, core and peel the desired amount of apples.
- Place in a saucepan on the stove on low heat.
- Allow to slowly cook down to desired consistency.
I added a sprinkling of cinnamon, and the result was perfection.
