Simple stewed apples with cinnamon

What a surprise to wake up to snow this morning! It’s not terribly common to get snow this early in the year where I live, but here it is.

What better time than this to enjoy the warmth of the indoors and some home-cooked food?

Yesterday my daughter told me “Mama, cook!”

To my great delight, she is starting to enjoy watching me cook and bake.

The procedure is incredibly easy, and the result is wonderful. Here’s my take on “stewed” apples.

Stewed apples…

  1. Slice, core and peel the desired amount of apples.
  2. Place in a saucepan on the stove on low heat.
  3. Allow to slowly cook down to desired consistency.

I added a sprinkling of cinnamon, and the result was perfection.
